How good are the Total Trainer leads?

As good as we can make them. All leads are vetted staff at Total Trainer and if we think the lead is fake or bogus in any way we delete it. This includes what look like fake names, incomplete address details, incorrect telephone numbers and fake-looking email addresses. Once we have checked these details, then and only then, do we send a lead to a personal training company.

What do leads look like?

Each lead will carry the following details:

  • Type of personal training required
  • Customer's name
  • Postcode
  • Telephone number
  • Email address

We feel these details are exactly what a company needs to open up a dialogue with a prospective customer.

Receiving the right type of leads

During the registration process we ask all personal training companies to specify the type of personal training they offer, their location and their customer catchment area (nationwide or in specific postcode regions). Only when a personal training company's own details match those of a customer do we send the provider the lead. That means each lead will be exactly the type of customer enquiry you're looking for.

Buying a lead

There are two ways to purchase a lead.

  • Full Leads - Receive the type of personal training required and the customer's name, postcode, email address and telephone number
  • Preview Leads -  Preview alead before you purchase.*

* Free to view (type of PT required, name and postcode) but at a cost if purchased.

We ask you to specify which type of leads you'd like to purchase during the signing up process. However, these details can be changed via the personal training company's business login area at any point in the future.

Leads via email and SMS

All leads are sent out via email to the email address specified during the signing up process. However, for speed and convenience we also allow delivery of leads via text message (if so specified during the registration process). This means that even if you're not in front of your computer you can still pick up leads in real time. Of course you don't want to receive customer leads at midnight or at the weekend, so we limit the delivery of text message leads to Mon-Fri, 9 am to 7 pm.

Reporting a bad lead

We work hard to make sure bad leads are not sent out. But if you did receive a bad lead you could contact us and after reviewing the lead, if we agree with your complaint, we would delete the lead from your account and invoice.

What is a bad lead?

First of all we should specify what constitutes a bad lead.

If all the details we send you are correct and you communicated with a customer but that you didn't win their business this is not a bad lead. Some leads will convert to new customers and some won't. That is just the nature of business. Remember our leads are vetted customer enquiries and not a 100% guarantee of new clients. If you call the telephone number and a prospective client but they don't pick up, this is not a bad lead. Many people vet incoming calls so the best course of action is to send them an email using the TotalTrainer.co.uk system. And of course if you purchase a lead but do not contact the customer, this is not a bad lead; it is merely a 'hot' lead that you have let slip by which has been picked up by your competitors.

A bad lead is when you call a telephone number and the number proves to be invalid. Or you call a number and the name on the lead doesn't match anyone within the specified household. Or if you send out an email and it bounces back to your inbox because the email does not exist.

Contacting a prospective client

The people that use Total Trainer wish to enquiry about personal training. Therefore, they expect to be emailed or called by a qualified personal trainer in their area. So, Total Trainer suggets that trainers both email a prospective client and call once; the former to add more information about yourself and the latter to talk one on one aout their goals and whether, in the end personal training is right for them.

Emailing a prospective client using Total Trainer

Each person using Total Trainer is given access to their own login area. Within this area, businesses can email prospective clients and they, in turn can pick up these messages via their email address or by logging into Total Trainer. Make use of this facility if you wish. In some cases this will win you new business as our users will recognise our email address and may be more likely to read the message attached.

Changing your client catchment area

Typically a national personal training company will choose 'Nationwide' during the registration process when deciding where their customers might be located. If at any point these details change, a business can log into Total Trainer and edit the customer catchment area without contacting Total Trainer.

Why should I use Total Trainer?

Unlike many companies Total Trainer only charges you for genuine business leads. Google and other search engines charge companies on a cost per click (CPC) basis without being able to control exactly how many leads this will convert into. Advertising in magazines and the press gives a company visual exposure but deciding how many leads it generated is difficult. And posting adverts on social media sites like Facebook is often looked down upon by 'fans' and 'followers' who use these sites primarily to communicate with friends.

With Total Trainer you can quantify exactly how many business leads we generated for you and how many turned into new business. Also, we give you total control over how and when you receive business leads.

Why do I pay to use Total Trainer?

Total Trainer works hard to make sure we generate leads for companies that are looking for new business. This takes technology, man power, time, energy and money. Not only that but we feel charging for our leads makes companies more pro-active when it comes to contacting potential new clients. After all a quick response by companies to customers only reflects well on the service we provide.

I have joined Total Trainer but I haven't received any leads eyt

Firstly, please make sure that you have chosen ALL the type of personal training you offer and your customer catchment area is wide enough using your secure business login area. Of course a company offering a single personal training service in a single postcode area will not receive as many leads as a PT company requesting national leads for numerous types of personal training services. Once you are satisfied that you have checked these details and you are happy with your choices please read on.

Total Trainers works hard to generate leads via a number of mediums - online advertising, natural listings, partnerships and affiliations. If you haven't received any leads yet please be patient as we are working hard to change this. But also remember that no leads mean no fees. So unlike other forms of advertising you're not losing money whilst you wait for leads to come rolling in.

Why can't I see my business details listed on Total Trainer?

Total Trainer is not an online directory like Yell nor is it a search engine like Google. All your business data is held behind the scenes so that we can accurately match a customer's requirements to your company details.

How many companies receive each lead?

Up to 3 personal trainer will receive each lead. This gives the client the chance to speak to different trainers and understand which trainer might be right for their needs.

Will the customer know I will be contacting them?

Yes. Any time we send out a lead we also send the customer an email to display the company names that will be contacting them. This allows a customer to pick up the phone or read an email with prior knowledge about why they are receiving a call or information into their inbox.

Can I cancel my membership at any one time?

Sure. This can be done in two ways. Firstly, you could simply switch off your leads within your business log in area. Or, you could contact us via email and we will disable your company from our system.
